Bus Transfers To and From Pescara Abruzzo Airport

When arriving at Abruzzo Airport just outside Pescara, Italy, a transfer is needed to get to your destination. There are a few options available depending on where you are going from the airport, these options include rental car, taxi and bus. Before proceeding to your choice of transfer please make sure to collect your entire luggage from the baggage claim area in the arrivals hall.

Bus Transfers at Abruzzo Airport

There are direct buses from the airport to Pescara Centro where buses to other areas and places in Italy depart from, both within the Abruzzo region and in other regions of Italy.

Except for Pescara all other destinations require a transfer at or near Pescara Centrale, which is the Railway Station in Pescara city and not the same as Pescara Centro, which is the center of the city.

Pescara Abruzzo Airport is located approximately 6 km from the center of Pescara city.

The bus stop at the airport is located opposite the airport exit on Via Tiburtina Valeria.

PESCARA

Abruzzo Airport – Pescara Centro – Pescara Centrale/Railway Station

The route is serviced by TUA, Trasporto Unico Abruzzese, through two different bus lines, Line 8 and Line 38. Line 38 runs in the mornings and in the evenings on weekdays, beginning around 6.00 and ending around 23.30, while Line 8 runs from around 9.00 to around 19.00 during weekdays. Line 38 is also in operation on the weekdays, but then runs the whole day.

Buses depart roughly every 20 minutes in both directions and the journey takes approximately 1 hour.

Tickets are purchased either in the ticket machine in the Arrivals hall of the airport or directly from the bus driver, and in Pescara through ticket kiosks. Tickets purchased through the ticket machine are slightly discounted. The ticket fare is around €1.50. Exact change is required when purchasing the ticket on the bus.

CHIETI

Abruzzo Airport – G. D’Annunzio University – Chieti Scalo – Chieti

Bus services between Pescara and Chieti depart every 15 minutes with TUA and every 2 hours with SATAM, both directions.
