Transfers to and from Pescara Abruzzo Airport

When arriving at Pescara Abruzzo Airport (PSR), first make sure to collect your entire luggage from the baggage claim area before exiting the arrivals hall to locate your means of transfer from the airport.

There are several ways available for transfer depending on where your destination is. These options include rental car, bus and taxi as well as shuttles and ride shares. From Pescara it is also possible to transfer to all over Italy via train or bus.

Rental Cars at Abruzzo Airport

The car rental companies at Abruzzo Airport have car hire desks located on the ground floor of the terminal building, in front of the Arrivals.

Once registered and signed for it’s time to find the rental car park located to the left once out of the Arrivals. There are directions in red color on the floor showing the way to the rental car parking and the staff at the desk will of course instruct their customers to the exact place. This is usually where rental cars are picked up and dropped off unless the rental car company has instructed otherwise.

Some companies may offer walk-ups, but it is always wise to arrange for the car before arrival to make sure there is one available and ready.

Buses at Abruzzo Airport

TUA, Trasporto Unico Abruzzese, operates the two bus lines, Line 8 and Line 38, that connects the airport with central Pescara and Pescara Railway Station, called Pescara Centrale. The two bus lines operate one at a time with departures starting around 6 in the morning and ending around 23.30 (11,30PM) every day of the week.

Buses depart approximately every 20 minutes and the journey takes around 1 hour one-way.

Tickets can be purchased in the ticket machine in the Arrivals hall on the airport side and in ticket kiosks on the Pescara side of the line, and also in exact change on the bus. Tickets are around €1.50 with a discounted price through the ticket machine.

There are also buses that connect the airport directly with Chieti.

Taxis at Abruzzo Airport

Taxi cabs are usually readily available for arriving travelers at the taxi rank outside the Arrivals hall. If there are no taxi cabs waiting at the travelers arrival at the rank they can choose to wait for one to arrive or call Radio Taxi at +39 085 35155 to order one.
